Campaign to obtain speaking right in Parliament reaching 15,000 signatures

After well over six weeks, we total 11,500 signatures. This means we have no more than 3,500 to go to reach the legally required 15,000 signatures that will give us the right to speak in the Flemish Parliament about our proposal to maintain Doel as an arts village.

Help Lappersfort Forest Poets Society acquire the forest

Our friends from Lappersfort Forest Poets Society have launched a national appeal to help them acquire the threatened Lappersfort Forest which they have been occupying for several years. If they can sell 32,000 shares of their "Lappersfort Forest Oxygen Factory", they will be able to purchase the forest and prevent it from being felled.
Please help them preserve this unique piece of nature and buy one or more €50-shares via:

 Ruigoord Axis Mundi installed in Doel
On Saturday 17 October, artists affiliated with the Amsterdams Balloon Society from Ruigoord (Amsterdam) installed their Axis Mundi in Pastorij Street in Doel. Similar Axes Mundi were erected in Ruigoord and Christiania (Denmark), thus interlinking these free cultural spaces.

10 Nov: Poetry event at Antwerp Book Fair: "Doel, My Dying Child"
Poetry nocturne at the Antwerp Book Fair, with performances by incumbent Doel village poet Frank Devos, former village poet Mark Meekers, and Patricia De Landtsheer, Wim Persoon, Martin Carrette and Bert Bevers. Musical intermezzo's by cellist Dirk Strybol.
The event starts at 19:30 on Tuesday, 10 November at Antwerp Expo.
