| Letter to Antwerp Port Authority CEO Bruyninckx |
|
KunstDoel wrote a letter to Antwerp Port Authority CEO Eddy Bruyninckx with the request to add Doel as 36th topic on the agenda of ongoing crisis talks. In short, we asked Mr. Bruyninckx:
- To abandon demolition plans so as to prevent the port from getting negative publicity in the media. Our campaign for speaking right in the Parliament has indeed shown that there is little public support for demolition of the village in the current context.
- To turn Doel into an innovative ecological model village offering facilities for (maritime) tourism, conference and restaurant facilities, culture, accommodation, and so on. In short, a place to exhibit the creations of all talents available in Flanders.
KunstDoel will now invite authoritative experts from various disciplines to contribute their ideas on the viability of this proposal. We thus hope to stimulate public debate on sustainable development and the direction that ecologically responsible economic reform should take in the future.

| Kind request to send in forms of the speaking right campaign |

By now, we have collected well over 14,000 signatures. We therefore ask everybody to return filled in forms that are still in your possession to Frie Lauwers in Doel, so that we may embark on the final count.<?xml:namespace prefix = o />
Without your enthusiastic support we would never have been able to collect the 15,000 signatures is so short a timeframe
Thanks to everybody for your help!!!
